We recorded Sankofa to honor our past (as the Ghanaian term refers to)-- to "go back and get" ourselves and move forward with our future. Our band performed these songs for years but never had versions that did them justice. Little did we know that even as we recorded it, we would be saying goodbye to the world pre-pandemic. We did it!
